SWISS MAN FOUND DEAD IN HOTEL
Swiss national Fritz Heinz Ernst, 59, who entered Cambodia on September 22, 2008, was found dead on a chair while he was watching TV alone at midnight on August 4 in the Swiss Garden Restaurant in Sihanoukville province's Village 3. The body was first found by his maid, who said the man was often ill. After examining the body, police found that the man had died of a heart attack.

DRUNKEN OFFICER FIRES SHOTS AT TRIO
An RCAF second lieutenant was arrested by Sen Sok district police for allegedly shooting at three men who had a conflict with him because he put his arm around their girlfriend's neck while he was seriously drunk. However, the shots did not hurt anybody. Police identified the soldier as Sau Chantha, 39, living in Trapaing Svay village, in the city's Sen Sok district, where the incident took place. The suspect told the police in a drunken manner that he shot at the men because they were rude to him.

REPORTED RAPIST ARRESTED IN PURSAT
A man was arrested last week by police in Pursat province's Phnom Kravanh district on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl while she was grazing her cattle alone a few days earlier in a field in the district's Santrey commune. The suspect, who lives in the same village as the victim, was known as Chhean Kay, 30. The arrest was made after the victim's family reported him to the police.

UNMARRIED COUPLE DIE IN SUICIDE PACT
An unmarried couple tied their hands together and then drank poison to commit suicide because their parents were against their love. The bodies were found by their relatives on Saturday morning in a bush about 300 metres away from their village in Kampong Thom province's Veal L'peak commune. Police identified the man as Hom Tol, 18, and the woman as Chhong Chhorvan, 18. Their families were rivals for a long time.

MAN ARRESTED FOR DRIVING ON LAWN
Thirty-year-old Seung Rithisen from Trapaing Pring village and commune, Teuk Chhou district, Kampot province, was nabbed by police for attacking a policeman who told him not to ride his motorbike on the grass in the park. The incident happened on Thursday evening in Muy Usaphea village, in Kampot province's Kampong Kandal commune. Searching the man's body, police found a knife and then decided to send him to court.
