STICK-WIELDING DRUNKARDS NABBED
Police say two drunkards were arrested on Sunday night for beating two other men with sticks in Kandal province's Kandal Steung district. The suspects were identified as Soeun Kea, 36, and Taeng Phorn, 26, both of Kandal Steung. The victims, who were taken to a nearby referral hospital, were 23-year-old Meoun Chanthoeun and 16-year-old Chan Phally, also of Kandal Steung. The attack was caused by a small conflict between the two groups as they were drinking near each other.

MURDER SUSPECT FINALLY COLLARED
A suspected murderer who had been on the lam for one year was arrested by Battambang provincial police on Saturday. Police said the arrest stemmed from an incident that took place in February 2008 in Battambang's Thma Koul district. Phun Ratana, 18, is accused of stabbing 26-year-old Chum Sokha to death and robbing him of money and a cell phone.

METH MERCHANTS THROWN IN THE PEN
Two suspected drug dealers were arrested on Sunday evening on Street 276 in Beoung Keng Kang 2 commune, in Phnom Penh's Chamkarmon district. The suspects were identified as 29-year-old Lim Rasmey of Chamkarmon district and 29-year-old Sorn Phanna, of no known home district. Police found five small plastic bags of white powder and nine methamphetamine pills on the suspects. A motorbike and two cell phones were also confiscated.

ATTACKERS TAKE REVENGE ON DENTIST
A 26-year-old dentist, Yaok Bunyath, was attacked by five people while he was opening the door of his house in Kampong Cham province's Thbaung Khmum district on Sunday night. The victim was cut in the face and the shoulder and was taken to Kampong Cham provincial hospital. The attack was an act of revenge, as Yaok Bunyath had recently beaten one of his attackers with a chair.
