NINE DRUNKS NABBED FOR ROWDINESS
Nine drunken men were arrested for disturbing the peace in Kandal province’s Ang Snuol district on Monday. The men knocked on their neighbour’s doors demanding money for alcohol. They were also accused of using and possessing drugs, but police were unable to find any illegal substances. The men were released after police counseled them.

MAN ACCUSED OF HACKING UP RELATIVE
A 50-year-old man was arrested on Sunday in Kampong Cham province’s Kampong Siem district in connection with the killing of his brother-in-law, local police said. Police said the 42-year-old victim was chopped to death with a machete on Saturday. Police arrested the suspect after the victim’s wife linked a pack of cigarettes found at the scene of the crime to the suspect. However, police said the accused has not yet confessed to murdering his brother-in-law.

ONE ARRESTD OVER KRATIE CHOPPING
A man in Kratie province’s Prek Prasap district was sent to court on Saturday for the killing of a 22-year-old man following an argument last week. On Wednesday, the victim was socialising with three other men when an argument erupted. Armed with an ax and a machete, the three suspects reportedly chopped the victim to death. One suspect was arrested the day after the attack, and the two others are still on the run.

ROBBERS CLAIM LIFE OF 68-YEAR-OLD MAN
A 68-year-old man in Oddar Meancheay province’s Trapaing Prasat district was killed during a robbery at his home on Sunday. Local police said the robbery occurred while the man was alone at home and his daughter was working in the family’s rice field. When the daughter returned home, she found his lifeless body on the bloodstained floor and jewellery was missing. Authorities do not know how many robbers were involved but suspect that they lived nearby. This is the third robbery in Trapaing Prasat district this year, police said.

TEENAGER ASSAULTS ADOPTED SISTER
A teenage boy was arrested on Sunday in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district on suspicion of sexually abusing his younger sister, police said. The 18-year-old adopted son was found alone in the bedroom with his 5-year-old sister by their parents. The suspect has confessed that he did sexually abuse the girl when he was alone with her at their home, police said.
