Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday confirmed that Senate President Chea Sims’ health is better after doctors in Singapore treated him.

Chea Sim was rushed to a hospital in Singapore on Sunday morning after checks by Cambodian doctors confirmed he had high blood pressure.

“So far, his health is better after careful treatment by Singaporean doctors so there are no any more worries as he can eat rice,” the premier said at the Kamchay hydropower dam construction in Kampot province.

The premier warned to foreign radio stations broadcasting in Khmer and local opposition radio stations not to exacerbate the situation. However, Chea Sim’s health is a lot better, he added.

Lork Hour, Chea Sim’s Cabinet sub director, told DAP News Cambodia that the senate president will return to Cambodia in two or three days time.
