Yim Ratana, 20, receives a preliminary checkup from Dr Mok Theavy, medical director of Phnom Penh’s Cambodian-Russian Friendship Hospital, on Monday at the hospital. Ratana was burned by a lamp when she was 8 years old, but is to receive a free operation in Sihanoukville today to treat her scars. The operation will be paid for by Operation Smile, a charity that supports treatment for facial deformities.
