PENANG, July 14 (Bernama) -- A maid agency expressed concern over the safety of two Cambodian maids who have been reported missing from their employer's house in Pulau Tikus since last Tuesday.

Bumiteras Sdn Bhd Maid Agency managing director Baby Goh said Vuth Sokkum, 23, and Sinorn Chin, 32, had only started working two weeks prior to their disappearance on Tuesday morning at about 7.30am to 9am.

"Both are in Malaysia for the first time and both were employed in the same house. According to the employer, both maids were in the house when the employer went out at about 7am but upon returning at about 9am, found both missing.

"The gate and main door were not locked but the house was in normal condition," Goh told reporters at the Gerakan Public Complaints Bureau here Wednesday.

Goh said immediately after the employer had reported their disappearance, a police report was made at the Jelutong Police Station.

"We are worried of their safety because Vuth and Sinorn did not take any clothing, money or their passports with them and both cannot speak Malay or English," said Goh.

Goh added that Vuth was 150cm tall while Sinorn (152cm) and urged those with information to contact 012-4878873 or the nearest police station.
