New SECC deadline

THE Security and Exchange Commission of Cambodia has announced the deadline for receiving applications for securities registrars, securities transfer agents, and paying agents on the Kingdom’s stock exchange to be September 15. Firms should be commercial companies registered in Cambodia. A registrar or transfer agent would need to be able to deposit 200 million riels (US$47,000), and a paying agent would deposit 500 million riels ($117,650].

World Bank expansion

WORLD Bank’s sovereign risk insurance arm, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, opened its first Asia-based offices yesterday, saying it signalled “a strong emphasis on inbound and outbound Asian investment”. It has expanded to Hong Kong and Singapore.

Beeline scratches up new top-up method

MOBILE operator Beeline has introduced “Easy Fill” mobile top-up service that does not require scratch cards to thousands of points of sale, according to a press release. The service is limited to 11 provinces at present, and allows subscribers to top up between US$0.50 and US$500.
