Cow thief nabbed by police in Kandal
A 21-year-old man was arrested on Saturday after he stole a cow in Kandal’s Ang Snuol district. Police said that they saw the man walking with a cow and detained him for questioning. At first, the man rejected the accusation, saying the cow belonged to his boss. Police released the pair, but the man panicked and attempted to escape. Police detained him again. He then confessed that he really did steal the cow while its owner let it free to eat grass in a field. He also said it was not the first time he had stolen something. Police sent him to the court.

Drug addicts held after ill-fated purchase
Two men were arrested after they bought two packages of drugs in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district on Sunday. Police said that they found the two packets in the suspects’ pockets. The pair admitted that they bought this drug and planned to smoke it at a guesthouse. They said that they buy drugs to smoke almost every day because they are addicted.

Axe attacker arrested after return from wild
Police in Mondulkiri province’s Keo Seima district arrested a 21-year-old man who struck a man three times with an axe. Police said that the man struck the victim and then escaped into the wild for one month. After that he came back home and because he had no money, he asked his friend to let him have a drink. While they were drinking, police arrested him. He admitted that he was responsible for the attack after he and the victim had a verbal conflict.

Heister arrested after stealing tourist’s purse
A 44-year-old man was arrested after he stole the purse of a Spanish woman who was staying at a guesthouse in Poipet city on Sunday. The victim said her purse contained money, a VISA card and an ATM card, and lost it after leaving it in her room at the guesthouse. Police said they suspected the accused because they saw him holding an ATM card that the woman said belonged to her. Police also found that the suspect is a drug dealer. Police seized 775 pills and a gun from him, and sent him to the court.

Kampong Cham Man found dead in Poipet
A 28-year-old man died in his rented house in Poipet town in Banteay Meanchey province on Monday. The owner of the house said that the man’s homeland was Kampong Cham, and that he came to Poipet to work. On the day of the incident, she wondered why he did not come out to work for three days. She decided to break down the door and she saw the man dead on his bed. Police said that there were no signs of foul play.
